Working For The Future Transformation |
|
Through this ambitious programme, the Birmingham City Council is introducing significant changes to the workplace combined with advances in Information & Communication Technology (ICT) to provide greater choice on where and how employees work. It will deliver these changes within fit for purpose, greener, better utilised and adaptable buildings with lower total operating costs.
The four key outcomes of Working for the Future:
|
Improved workplaces & work styles
Office accommodation is being brought into the 21st century with out of date premises being refurbished and new offices introduced. Wider adoption of agile working will be made easier through the introduction of new work styles, working practice guidance and new ICT. |
Better customer experience
In the future, customers will be able to access services in many different ways - on the web, by telephone or in person. There is an aspiration to bring public services together in easily accessible locations. |
|
Lower property operating costs
The proposed changes to the portfolio will lead to more efficient use of property. |
Greater sustainability
The new portfolio will be built to the highest environmental standards and this will help to reduce the Council's carbon footprint. |
