The focus of the conference was on outsourcing and how this during the last 25 years has become an increasingly important means of delivering public sector services.

The CHAMPS2 team was there to talk about how CHAMPS2 provides large scale business change programmes a higher chance of success.

Amongst the many questions we addressed were how CHAMPS2 can help organisations that either plan or are undergoing change by developing a common language, and how the CHAMPS2 structure helps the leadership by providing a holistic view on programme portfolio management – both elements that are crucial when programmes are managed by a mix of internal and external resources.

At the event the Corporate Director of Business Change, Birmingham City Council Glyn Evans delivered a presentation on how to drive innovation through outsourcing.

During his presentation Glyn Evans explained how Birmingham City Council created Service Birmingham as a joint venture partnership with Capita, and how Service Birmingham today delivers consultancy and ICT services for the council.
