In April 2006, Birmingham City Council embarked on the largest Business Transformation programme in UK local government; a programme that is set to revolutionise the way that the Council delivers services to people who live, learn, work in, or visit Birmingham. The Councils Business Transformation programme is the largest and most ambitious of its kind that has ever been undertaken. It is a long-term programme, and seeks to save £1 billion over ten years through more efficient ways of working.

New book on eGovernment Performance Measurement |

A new title on electronic government has just been published by PTI & ITEMS International. The book “Beyond eGovernment-Measuring Performance: A Global Perspective" is targeting performance measurement in eGovernment, at a global scale.
The book’s 40 contributors from 17 nations demonstrate how eGovernment initiatives – to include Web 2.0 and social media tools and multi-channel public contact services – can benefit from performance measurement.
